I am a practitioner, scholar, and teacher of acupuncture and Oriental medicine, and also teach meditation and qigong as methods of self-healing, self-cultivation, and self-knowledge. Extraordinary Chinese Medicine is the name of my first book, and is also a reference to the extraordinary healing power that we each have within – which can be accessed through the power of acupuncture, herbal medicine, and meditation.
Through working with patients over the last 20 years, I have witnessed the ways in which difficult and challenging experiences are often opportunities for growth. Our beauty arises from our complexity, through the experiences and perspectives that are unique to us as individuals. As we begin to accept ourselves as we are, our true nature comes forth and we experience the peace and light that is our natural state.
Over the last few years, I have been offering meditation classes online. The classes are fairly basic, covering a variety of breathing techniques and concentration practices, with short talks on topics such as self-compassion, presence, purity of intention, working with fear, cultivating non-reactivity, and the fluctuations of consciousness. A number of these classes are recorded and are available through Insight Timer, and can be accessed here:
